sweetea!
the daisy//cheerfulness
Nothing hits the spot and raises your blood sugar quite like a glass of homemade sweet tea. In this wild journey of life, there are some people you encounter that you just vibe with. There’s something about how they love you or their aura that makes you feel comfortable and at ease. I’d like to say Sweetea! is written for all the sweeties out there but tbh I wrote it because I was craving sweet tea and missing my sister’s cat…
Sweetea! has an embarrassing number of tea puns. It has a Southern jug band but also a trap beat. It has random d e e p exclamations like “ice ice.” It even has an odd talk-singing rap-like bridge with the poetic genius of “Lipton could use some tips from my baby.”
Sometimes, you gotta take joy in whatever is in front of you. For me in this season, it’s a nice cool glass of Southern sweet tea.
For the second chapter of May, I shoved some daisies into our spring hodgepodge in hopes that you find joy and laughter in the small things, even when you’re overwhelmed by everything else.

lyrics:
I cried at work and it’s only Monday
Ran out of gas, phone’s on low battery
Soaked to the bone ‘cuz I was caught in the rain
I get the blues when it’s not sunny
I headed home, texted I’ll be late
Thought you’d be a sleep gotta catch them z’s
But you waited up just to see me
And handed me a glass of your famous sweet tea
Oh- you’re like that glass of sweet tea
Oh- a sip of summer to me
Oh- can’t believe i’m this lucky
Oh- because
My baby boy is like a glass of sweet tea
He cools me down when my world is spinning
I took a sip and now I’m chillin’
Sweetea
A slice of lemon and a splash of peach
You’re my spring break ocean breeze on the beach
You’re my golden hour at the end of spring
Now it’s getting warmer yeah the sun is peeking
Sweetea
You sat me down in my favorite seat
Near the window overlookin the lilies
You moved the lights so I can feel sunshine on me
It’s nearly midnight but you are blinding
“We don’t have to talk, we can sit silently
But you should know, I’m always here for you baby”
Pulled up a chair, gave me a blanket for my feet
And handed me a glass of your famous sweet tea
Oh- you’re like that glass of sweet tea
Oh- a sip of summer to me
Oh- can’t believe i’m this lucky
Oh- because
On the rocks, till the glass is sweating
The weather’s wack but with you I’m singing
A toast to you ‘cuz your worth celebrating
Sweetea
Arnold palmer ain’t got nothing on your sweet tea
Lipton could use some tips from my baby
You got me so silly that I’m name dropping tea
But this is all to say you just simply can’t be beat
I’m always a mess but I swear you’re Mr Clean
Magic in a bottle, boy did you spike the tea?
I was a lonely Island too Long til you deiced me
Just expressing, you’re refreshing when I’m feeling weak
I cried at work and it’s only Monday
Ran out of gas, phone’s on low battery
